During a televised statement, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi condemned the operation as a “criminal act under international law,” while threatening “everlasting consequences” for the U.S.
Meanwhile, Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei declared that any direct military involvement by the U.S. could spark an “all‑out war” across the Middle East.
The U.S., which authorized strikes using B‑2 bombers and Tomahawk missiles targeting Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan, describes the action as a decisive blow aimed at halting Iran’s nuclear progress—and insists it does not seek regime change. President Trump called the operation a “spectacular military success” and warned that further strikes could follow if Iran “does not choose peace.”
In Tehran, leaders fear the conflict may escalate sharply. Analysts point to Iran’s possible disruption of the Strait of Hormuz or cyberattacks as potential leverage in retaliation.
Globally, leaders are urging calm. UN Secretary-General Guterres called the strikes a “serious threat to peace,” while European, Chinese, and Russian officials echoed urgent calls for diplomacy.
As both sides posture and prepare, the risk of deeper, regional confrontation looms large—with key flashpoints like oil routes and U.S. bases hanging in the balance.
